Tough job well handled by BiB

Not motoring related but a job well done deserves praise, especially when we’re all usually so quick to criticise.

When leaving for work today there was a funny smell outside my flat. During the day I realised I hadn't seen my old boy neighbour for a while and when I got back to my flat this evening the smell was worse. So after ringing the neighbour's bell and looking through the letter box I decided to call the police.

2 officers arrived within 10 minutes and were highly professional. Unfortunately the old boy next door had passed away a few days ago. It must be awful for you BiB, but to see you work as professionally as you did tonight makes me believe that, in general, we're lucky to have the police force we have.

It is appreciated from our end too mousey.

Sudden deaths are not nice to attend, I have forgotten how many similar situations I have found myself in. There are always a lot at this time of year as well.

Yep, I agree. Most people don't see the low profile stuff like this, only when they get pulled over. Don't forget the police have got so much paperwork and pressure to meet targets these days, it's a tough job.

Sadly had the same prompt response from the Hastings Police.

I live in the North West and my mother lived in Hastings. At the time she was moving from one flat to another.

Couldn't contact her for a few days, at either address or telephone number, and asked the police for their help even if they could just check either place to ensure that she was ok.

Sadly got a visit from a local copper a few hours later to say that she been found dead in bed and had been there a few days.

The BiB were great and it must have been very unpleasant to break in and find her there.
