friend of mine in his boss's Diesel Bora.
Hoofing it down the M18 at approx 110 when the previously unseen dark blue car took up position on his rear where it stayed until one of the occupants put a portable blue flashing light on the dashboard.
(equivalent of putting 5 strong laxative tablets in your mouth and swallowing)
onto the hard should (tablets starting to dissolve) and one of the 2 plods takes a sit down in his passenger seat. (laxatives taking effect now)
Plod never looked at mate, and mate is clenching his hair with his right hand and repeating the word 's**t' to himself over and over.
'hmm, nice cars these, you were making a bit of progress there weren't you?, do you know what happens if you have a crash at that speed?, ' blah blah blah (squit squit squit!!).
then, plod says 'you know I can't do you don't you?, just keep your f*****g speed down, because they WILL have you round here'.
Plod then leaves car, and leaves a very shaken mate trembling on the hard shoulder.
The rest of the journey, and indeed journeys for weeks later on the motorway were at 65.

Tells you something that, doesn't it?

How does he know it was plod?

AFAIK, plod NEVER come and sit in your car (something to do with being driven off by a maniac while their mate is left behind, I imagine).

When pulled a couple of weeks ago I had already got out of my car, and was invited to join the police in their warm vehicle to watch the video

I've had traffic coppers come & sit in my passenger seat after pulling me over. Once I even got let off for driving at 125
Very nice chap. Asked me pertinent questions like "what do you think your braking distance at 125MPH is"
This was over 10 years ago - no doubt I'd be imprisoned if this happened today....

According to the Highway code it is somewhere between 960 feet (at 120mph) and 1105 feet (at 130mph)

Using the basic formula, it should be about 940 feet.
