Excuse the terminology if it's wrong, by buffer limits I mean the 40 limits you often get for a few hundred yards each side of a 30 limit, for example.

I do a lot of miles a year and see a fair few camera vans, but it occurred to me today that I have NEVER seen one collecting in an intermediate speed limit, i.e. a buffer zone, when there's a lower limit nearby.

Has anyone else?

*shrug* They park wherever they think they're likely to see the most people disregarding the speed limits. There isn't really much science to it.

"Buffer" zone?
The same drivers that disrespect the 30 limit ignore the 40 limit buffer and arrive in the 30 over the limit!!
Not sure which clown thought they would help keep speeds down... they do nothing of the sort!

I wasn't really arguing about the morality of it, and I can quite understand why they park in the 30 given the choice, I just found it odd that I'd never seen it happen.

That does seem to be true, the bds have even got motorbikes around here now, so they can really hide.
