I got a pull for speeding in a 60 and was not offered a fixed pen as my speed was over the officers guideline limit.
So a summons arrived with an option to plead guilty by post. I find it strange the charge only states i was in excess of the limit and there is no mention of the speed recorded.

Is this normal?

Not sure if it is the norm but what is the wording of the plead guilty option?

Is it along the lines of "do you pleed guilty to travelling faster than 60"

Or "how do you plead against the offence of travelling at xxx in a 60"?

If the later write, fax, email, call, carrier pigeon back asking them for more information.

There is no mention of the speed the officer showed me on his gun at the time.

offence chrged....
'Motor vehicle exceed 60 mph on single carriageway - manned equipment'

then simply options to plead guilty by post, at court or not guilty

You were presumably over the threshold for a FPN, which in Dorset as an example, is 86mph+.

Do you agree with this?

Magistrates guidelines are in the ranges 81-90mph and 91 -100mph. Would it help you to know if they are alleging above or below 90mph?

The summons only has to state the offence that you have been charged with, not the details.

Showed me 93 on the gun. Why is this speed not recorded on the officers statement?

Have you seen the Officer's statement?

Yes I was sent a copy of his witness statement. No mention of the speed on there.
