Off the top of my head;

A shooting will have taken place in Halifax...the VRM of the vehicle being noted..the same vehicle later goes through speed camera and picture taken.

Car could be stolen, I don't know.

The picture of the 'Moll' in the back is the lead to find the driver/passenger.

That's all very good, but anyone who is determined to commit a crime could easily circumvent the system simply by using.......Cloned plates

quite a lot of stories are written/reported as they are after consultation between broadcasters and the police. Often to avoid 'jigsaw' identification of individuals, and also to create a 'filter' for enquiries/witnesses - apparently.

jigsaw ID used to be a problem.
eg.
A man from Leeds.
A person aged between 20 and 25
Believed to drive a ford KA
A Y registered vehicle
A man working for an insurance company.

A few more and you could almost name him (if you knew him)!

One would conclude from this that the Police are picking people at random who go through scameras...

And speed cameras have done very little to identify the driver in this case

..and the onus, as with congestion charge chase-ups, will no doubt be on the unfortunate honest registered keeper of the cloned car to prove that they are innocent.

So lets get this right the car is spotted at a drive by shooting in Halifax then again 2 days later tripping a speed camera in Manchester. Number plate noted both times but the crime detection is being underhandedly ascribed to a speed camera.
If the car hadn't tripped the camera the police would still have the number plate!!

But surely they are trying to trace the women so they can prosecute the driver for speeding? After all it is more important than catching criminals.
