Hi All,

I've got a S2 Rs Turbo and put it off the road for the winter months, I taxed it last month as I wanted to take it a run but now the gritting has started Its being tucked away in the garage from today.

I've sorned it online, its registered to me. Do I receive a cheque as a refund?

Yes, cheque is sent to the registered keeper at the address on the v5. I've just received a cheque for a car I SORNed about 3 days before.

Passed an gritter on Friday up Wick when I was working up there.

Got a few good runs in the RS so till next year she is now garaged.

Cheers for that.

Sorry, your username should have given it away.

We haven't even had a frost yet, let alone need gritters, although I've sorned my bike now, as the temp has dropped below 20 & I'm soft.

Aye its cold up here just now. Its going to be a frosty one tonight.

Not worth risking the RS Turbos life. One drive in the salt and it will be rotted by the time I get it home wink

Yep, five days here. They're being scarily efficient. It was even the correct amount...

Have you considered rustproofing it...? I mean, it's only an Escrote, but...

Yep, the previous owner did a full restoration to it but NEVER undersealed it.

I fully undersealed it 2 weeks ago to kind of future proof it from rot.

Underseal? I was thinking more of wax. Structural rot rarely happens from the outside in.

Sorry my apologies, I sprayed it with waxoyl - I call it underseal smile

Its still on original quarters etc, not one rust bubble on it, it has been welded once in the boot, a plate about the size of a £10 note.

Nicely spec'd 250bhp printout from it, forged etc,fMIC all nicely hidden.

Interior/Exterior is completely standard apart from a CD player.

Picture doesn't do it justice.

if you're on the coast ,there's more than road salt to worry about. There's salt in the air from the sea. Not just a winter problem. A heavy wax on the body will help, and will go some way to stop the crap from sea gulls& sea air from damaging the paintwork. You might want to look at filling the sills with something like wax/waxoil.

Filled every single box-section, I hope, rather than just sprayed?

But it's still an Escrote... <shrug>
