There is a kids club thing round the corner from our house running sessions at different times of the day/evening/night

Its on a main arterial in/out of town with a bus stop outside and double yellows for several hundred metres each way
For good measure its also very near a cross roads

There is masses of parking within 5 mins walking but as you can imagine the local parents couldnt possibly let their princes/princesses walk this far so generally park up outside (as opposed to stopping to drop off) for large parts of the evening rush hour

This bugs me for 2 reasons:

1) I commute home across the above mentioned cross roads, visibility is abysmal with cars violating the double yellows

2) My kids, and dozens others, have to cross here on their way home from school, it is similarly hazardous

To be honest I think its antisocial, unacceptable and Im amazed nobody has been seriously hurt - there have been several accidents involving cars but without major injury though

Nobody seems bothered by this

The council dont care and say they dont have enough wardens to enforce it - compare the recent Brighton thread!

Ive spoken to local bobbies, flagged down a traffic cop and also phoned my community policeman who all say its a civil issue and not their problem

My latest plan of attack was my local councillor who lives nearby, she was as attentive as could be until she realised I wanted her to do something at which point she got bored

She please, please help

Who can I speak to in order to make this stretch of road safer please?

Cheers

If your neighbours are equally annoyed about it you can get several of them to pressure the police and councillors about it. That's what happened round my way when school run parents were causing a problem with parking. It got double yellow lines painted where there weren't any before and an occasional patrol by a police officer at school drop off time, plus police cones get put out at junctions where people were parking stupidly.

Nothing will happen.
On a bus route I drive we have a massive problem with people parking on bus stops, police have been told/council/local mp, nothing changed.
