drunk, lights off on the A40

Was driving back to my parents on Christmas Eve down the A40 towards Chalfont at about 10:30 PM. Sitting in the middle lane in a blue space wagon, head next to the windscreen so he could see the lines on the road, his lights weren't on and he clearly couldn't focus more than a couple of meters ahead of himself. Any police here know if this man is still alive or was there an unhealthy accident around about 10 minutes later ?
Silly Silly man - I never have understood how you can get so drunk it is a good idea to drive and not even turn the head lights on at night, what happens when the street lights go from the side roads!!!

My parents were doing exactly that in the car infront of me. No feedback unfortunately but I can only assume a unit was despatch immediately. A40 has quite good cameras I thought - would assume that he would have been picked up on them. Parents were about 15 minutes infornt of me - they called me to let me know to look out and avoid the car at all cost when passing.
No no accident involving that vehicle. Cameras on A40 towards chalfont?? We dont have CCTV covering that area.
A unit would have been sent to look in the area and its possible a traffic unit went to the R/O address if there was one on, failing that by the time a unit arrives in the area he would be long gone. Was the reg passed to the police?
