Just trying to clarify what's what, on my pre 97 licence I am entitled to drive C1+E (107) which I understand limits me to 8250kg GTW, then I have D1=E (101,119) which I understand the 101 as not for hire or reward but the 119 from https://www.gov.uk/driving-licence-codes weight limit does not apply? So according to that I can drive a 52 seat coach with no restriction on trailer size as long as it's not for hire or reward?

D1 restricts the driver to a max of 17 total seats

D is for any vehicle with 18 or more seats

B and C categories go by plated GVW weight
D categories go by number of seats

Doh blonde moment on the 52 seats,it was the difference in weight restriction, or the lack of it that I find confusing.
