Met Recruitment

I am not sure if anyone here can answer my question, but I thought it was a shot!! I was wondering if anyone knows when the Met might start recruiting again, as it seems their recruiting is on hold at the moment. If it is going to be of a significant length of time till they start again, would I perhaps be best served by applying to the local force and transfering after my 2 years probationary time? Any advice would be welcome! Also, if anyone was/is in the MOD police, I was also thinking about joining them if the Met is just going to be ages in recruiting! Any advice on them would be most welcome!

Have you tried contacting the MPS recruiting department direct, to see if they can give you any sort of indication?

I did, but got an automated response back. Though the site says that they will be at a London Job fair in Olympia on the 24th of January so I think i will pop up and ask them face to face!!

I have the general police application form off the police: could you? website and the MOD police application form, both seem to be identical, and they are asking questions about resolving problems for members of the public etc. The only times I have done this have been in the course of this temp. job I have been doing since graduating, however, these problems don't seem to be that major in comparison to the problems faced by the police, so I really don't know whether to put these down as examples!
