Passing a moving Trafpol car

Just a thought.
During my experience in the past 21 years of patroling the roads (swinging that old lamp)....if im travelling along at the speed limit, whenever a car slowly glides past.....what do you think that the most popular bodily motion is from the driver of that car?
Ask most BiB and they will probably tell you the same........if im honest, i sometimes do it whenever i pass a Police car.

I find it hard to rub my nose while passing a Police car as it may cause me to drop either the candy car in my left hand or the phone in my right hand which I'm holding out of sight below the window line

At least we can get past you. In the US people never want to pass a Police car for fear of being stopped. Cops seem to cruise at the limit too - very annoying. I was nearly late for a meeting yesterday because everyone was sitting behind a Police car. 75mph is the norm on this road, but everyone was doing 64.99mph.
Once I got close to the Police car is had 'Brentwood Police' written on it ... which is near LA (OJ Simpson country), at the time we were in Northern California near Oakland/Plesanton - so he wasn't even on his own patch yet everyone was treating him like god.

I've always worn them in the car, even before the legislation 20 years ago, it seemed sensible when you're going to travel at high speed (didn't wear them round town though). In the truck, they are just a pain in the arse, and IMHO next to useless (anything solid enough to stop 44 tonnes at 56Mph, would have already flattened the cab on top of me)

I think it's very scary overtaking a police car!
I once sat in the slow lane behind one for about 10 miles, the police car was doing 69mph (- by my speedo reading). This other car in the middle lane overtook the police car, but took about 10 miles to do it. Just as she got her car just in front of the police car, they put the lights on and pulled her over!
I was glad it wasn't me, cos I was seriously thinking about doing the same. I can't imagine what they said when they pulled her over? Except maybe, "You shouldn't have been in the middle lane for that long..." or something. I can't believe they had any grounds to get her for speeding?
Anyway, I still get scared overtaking trafpol, even when they are doing well under the speed limit. I always feel like I'm probably doing something wrong whenever there's a police car about!!

AS long as you aren't taking the piss they can't/won't do anything cos it causes them too much hassle.
I remember driving down the A1 a few years back, round a corner at 75 ish, and suddenly there was a huge line of traffic, both lanes, doing 65 mph. So I fought my way through, flashing and indicating a people, got to the front, found a Police TRANSIT MINIBUS at the front doing 65 in the Inside lane, when I had recovered laughing, I put my foot down and accelerated back up to 75 and carried on. Strangely, nothing else overtook the minibus for as long as it remained in my mirror

I have to say - and I was having this conversation with a colleague in the area car the other week who completely agreed with me - that sad bar stewards that drive around trying to look like motorcycle police with big cruiser motor bikes and yellow jackets etc etc are very very very sad indeed!
The coppers in the trafpol car were probably laughing at you and joking like I was in our marked car the other day after seeing someone as described ride the other way
Often despatch riders... A very cunning way to easily make progress through the traffic. Would be interesting to see if this type of rider suffered less "Sorry mate, I didn't see you accidents". My money is on numpties somehow being able to spot them
