Went out this morning with my friend from Reading to Newbury via the M4, noticed that there was some Specs set up near the Chievley (A34) exit with the signs "cameras not in use" below them. No issue there anyway as traffic was heavy

Said friend got a tad enthusiastic on the way back joining the M4 from the same junction, noted there was only one Specs from that junction heading Eastbound back towards Reading, his heart sank when I said "I am sure there was no sign saying cameras not in use below that" also, it did not look like a normal specs camera.

anyone a regular commuter via this route? and am I right in thinking that the first Specs seen along there from that junction heading back is not before the chievley junction?

The SPECs cameras on the Eastbound carriageway were live this morning, or certainly the "Average speed cameras" signs were up and there is now a 50mph limit.

Earlier in the week they had the "Camera not in use" signs by them and it was NSL.
