Parking and fines
Discussion
So i turn into a car park today next to a leisure centre to go through some papers and some bloke comes up knocking on the window asking if i was a member. I said no and he said then leave. To which i questions him. He said you aren't allowed to park here this is private land.
I looked around and there was enough spaces for about 100 cars and i said i'm nearly done i will leave before giving him a mouthful about being rude.
There wasn't any signage anywhere about it being private land, there were no pay and display machines and no maximum stay limit. Not even members carpark only.
Before he got back in his car he said he would be sending off my details and will prosecute, i assume he was on about my numberplate.
What on earth is that all about.

So i turn into a driveway today next to a lovely big house to eat my McDonalds takeaway and some bloke comes up knocking on the window asking if i lived there I said no and he said then leave. To which i questions him. He said you aren't allowed to park here this is private land.
I looked around and there was enough spaces for about 3 cars and i said i'm nearly done i will leave before giving him a mouthful about being rude.

Before he got back into his home his friend turns up with a large tipper truck drives in and totally blocks the exit, shouts to the owner thanks mate for the use of your drive to park my truck for the weekend see you Monday and off he goes.

So how am i suppose to distinguish between a council run leisure centre and a private one when it isn't signposted.
Council will have signs with parking info, private will have a bloke that tells you to p**S off, easy really. He's about 19 stone and built like a cage fighter you can work out the rest.

It's about you parking on private property without permission.
But thankfully, if he's caused any loss to the landowner then the latter can get redress, so it's all good, for anyone who only cares about things which, you know, actually affect them in some discernible way.GPSHead said:

)So would using the fridge/telly/lavatory be ok? As long as I compensate for any "loss" occurred by the homeowner, of course....
How about taking somebody's car for a drive and reimbursing them at the HMRC-approved rate of 45ppm? Is that ok? I've compensated them for any loss.....
