Looking at car - No DVLA details

[smfadamhart]

Hi all.

I'm currently looking to buy a car I've seen privately advertised online. I'm a little concerned however, that the car's details cannot be found through the DVLA website or a checker like RAC. The correct details do come up however when I search the MID.

Any ideas?

New numberplate changed from a private plate and the DVLA system has not been updated?

Make a thorough check, is it something nickable?

@eatcustard I think you've got it. Rang the DVLA and they said it's currently down as being on a private plate.

It's coming of a cherished plate probably ask them what the previous reg was.

One of mine has never shown up on the DVLA check.

I still get my tax/sorn reminders, but I can't tax/sorn online!

Just checked again and it doesn't show up.

Last time, I had to post my sorn and ask for confirmation.

Just the usual/unusual DVLA blip in the system with mine.
