A few friends are sharing, and reporting, a Facebook page, calling for Facebook to remove it.

But after a few months, it is still active.

The page has "JAILBAIT" in the title, that should tell you what sort of content it contains.

Is it worth reporting to the police, when you don't know where the page owner is based?

Depends on how bad the content is and if it actually constitutes an offence. Each force will have network investigators who can track down the offenders, so it's not necessarily a lost cause.

Report it to CEOP or IWF, depending on the content. They have the resources to get it taken down or to produce a full intel. package which can be passed to local forces for action.

We are talking pre teens (Mainly), in bikinis, and underwear, in suggestive poses, if it makes a difference.

It sounds like the sort of material that gets people convicted. You should report it. I'd use some of the other agencies mentioned rather than the police.

Reported to IWF.

Appeared the most appropriate.

Plus remember that all these photographs that have been offending you so much are now on your hard drive. So if your PC breaks, be careful who you get to fix it.

the fact it's been repeatedly reported to facebook, and they have taken no action should give you a clue as to the action the police would take.

Really?

I'd have thought it was more because Facebook, being an American company, applies the American concept of absolute freedom of expression, therefore, unless the images are of obvious under-age sexual activity, they won't breach their "standards"...

I posted what I thought was a perfectly innocuous photo of my 198x Sun calendar hanging in my garage and they took it down as "offensive" confused

The page has now been removed.

Can the IWF act that fast, from 1 report, or will Facebook have finally pulled it.

If it was Police Scotland, you'd be waiting an hour for them to answer the telephone call, then wait 3 weeks for them to actually turn up!

You can guess we have the worst Police service in the UK ! The guys on the beat wan to do their job but are stopped by ineffectual executives.
