I've just driven over the Scotswood Bridge in Newcastle. At the entrance to the bridge there was a guy with a note pad in an luminous jacket looking across to the other side of the bridge. (He didn't look like s police officer apart from the jacket as he had grey trousers on)

As I entered the bridge I was in 2nd gear and accelerated past him getting to about 45mph (limit is 50) and changed to third and then took the slip road off the bridge. During this I was looking in my rear view mirror and he watched me the whole time from passing him. I noticed there was a Traffic Police car parked on the other side of the road when I was exiting the bridge too.

So my question did he watch me as he thought I was speeding (my car is loud when accelerating) and can I expect something through the post would need to challenged or am I being really paranoid?

I stress I was not speeding, and what has happened seemed a bit odd.

Definitely paranoid.

Could have been an Engineer doing an inspection/survey which is more likely.

I drove past a man in a luminous jacket just before christmas, and then I saw a police car parked up too. I've been living in my loft since then with a shiny hat, just to be on the safe side. silly

I think you've got a real paranoia issue by the sound of it. Looking at your garage, you were presumably driving your Aston? I think plenty of blokes with a car appreciation would watch when an aston accelerates past them.
I'm going with it being a traffic survey too.

Ha ha ha.

Yes I was in the Aston, I think I am being paranoid too. Just told some of the lads in the pub my story and they all looked at me as if I'm thick as pigs st.
