My in laws have recieved a letter from a solicitor (I think, FCILEx) asking if they would like their wills updated to the new standard provisions for a special offer of £50 instead of the Normal £395. The lady solicitor ceases practise in two weeks hence the cheaper price. They originally used her to draw up their wills 7 years ago and nothing has changed since then.

Question is, is this an offer not miss? Should they have to re new their wills because she says they have the old provision? Finally what's the difference between old and new provisions?

JThat's what I was thinking, but because they used her initially they think it's genuine (may be). Another question I forgot was, does it really cost £395 to change a will when nothing's actually changed other than old to new provision (whatever that means)?

If nothing's changed, except for some boilerplate guff that the solicitor thinks they need but can't quite explain why, then...

If they are shutting up shop who will storing any of these Wills and files is a question I would like to know the answer to?
