points how long on licence

Hi, Mrs Rich' got caught 42/30MPH in November last year, 3 points, and £60, how long will points remain on licence, and does it ever differ, in view of a persons speed when caught

Mate was 90+, in a 40, and yet retained licence year before?

O'h well, she phoned the insurers, as next door, had a disagreement with their company on a similar note, when it came to a claim that is.
Our insurers said 'no problem', first offence, thats ok

Yep. That's the one.

After 3 years they no longer count towards being banned under 'totting up' and after 4 years you can have them removed from your licence.

However, bear in mind that most insurance companies ask if you have had any endorsements or convictions in the past 5 years.

Make sure you keep a note of the day and time, plus who she spoke to, otherwise they may claim you did not tell them in the event of a possible claim.

Because they can. I got some points in July 02. So I won't bother to get my licence "cleaned" until the five years are up because I'd NEVER remember when it happened (and you need the exact date!).
