Are there any solicitors on here that would be willing to give me some very brief guidance? Situation is totally amicable, we don't need any help with finances, child access, splitting of assets etc, all taken care of already, so I was looking at the gov.uk forms and wondering if there are any shortfalls to applying without a solicitor, and also what is the speediest way to get it through? We were thinking grounds would be unreasonable behaviour? 2 years is way too long to have life on hold and we've already done 2 years of living together as separated for all intents and purposes even though we shared the same house till recently.

Just beware that even though you think you've settled all the financials the rug may be pulled out from under you in years to come. I speak from experience of even having a Court order for maintenance payments!

Yes. Just ask Dale Vince about that one!
No matter how amicable it appears, it's best to get everything properly documented and agreed (Consent Order?)

Did mine online a few years ago for about 450 quid if I remember correctly, no kids, sorted out everything between us and just did the standard 2 year split, although when I had paid off my 12,000 credit card bill I did not have much left!

Beware, it can start off amicable, often the knoives come out later on, particularly if one or other of you hook up with a new partner. Get it done quick while everybody is being agreeable
