That's Parking Eye successfully taking someone to court and subsequently winning the appeal.

Depends on the circumstances surely.

Parking eye won in the court of appeal. On specific grounds. Unless they are similar they can't use that as a binding argument.

If the ticket was for taking the Micky because parking on private land is generally considered 'unenforceable' by some then you should pay it, why should you get to park for free whilst others pay? If on the other-hand the parking enforcement bod for the car park is trying it on then appeal it through POPLA don't ignore it just incase they do decide to take you to court and get a judgement against you in your absence.

County court judge = means it's not binding.

The recent COA ruling is far more important though. Although it depends on the circumstances.

In Scotland, you still forget about it! (Our laws don't need you to divulge who the driver was, so unless you're stupid and tell them, there's nowt they can do. Besides, they can only sue for loss of income - and if there is just one empty space in the car park at the time, then they have no income loss, so suing will simply cost the company more than they could recoup.)
