It's not such a bad idea though really is it to go somewhere where they have a camera. If you are being followed by a maniac and you are a woman or not a PH well built company director then it's better to be under a CCTV camera and point out that they are being recorded. Criminal record is a deterrent even to a madman if they are PAYE and may lose their job.

Of course most of us on here would get out and floor the perp with one punch before smashing their Mrs' back doors in in victory, but not everyone is invincible and have the strength of the hulk in the real outside of PH world. So I'm told.

I don't know if being in the view of a camera would change things in some cases. If the person chasing you was that disturbed, you'd ideally want to get away or find the police.

Indeed, I can't imagine most people would consider that there would be CCTV in a car park etc - a Police Station however (if you can find one open) is the best bet I would have thought.

Definitely don't go to a police station unless it's a big one that is 24/7 as the majority of local stations arent!

In my experience, a pub car park or a petrol station forecourt would be a better option.

In my 'well dicussed on PH' experience where I drove to a police station, the desk monkey was only interested in getting me out of the station by threatning to getvme arrested.

I had a guy got mad at me for doing 30mph in a 30 limit. Got out of the limit and he tried to run me off the road. Came to the next town and I started flashing my headlights so that it would attract the CCTV operator's attention. Drove through backroads straight into a police station car park where the cops were coming out to start following us. They booked the irate driver, who foolishly followed me into the car park, based on the CCTV evidence and their own CCTV at the station.
