Obscured residence permit: any chance of challenging PCN?
Discussion
Just want to see if people have had any success here or could give any advice. I went to a private car park a few months ago and, rather foolishly, put the paper ticket in my residents' parking permit wallet obscuring the permit, then forgot about it. Traffic warden dutifully showed up the following day and I'm now at the stage where the council has rejected my formal representations and I intend to take this to the tribunal. As you can guess, they're saying that the ticket was for failing to display the permit correctly; the PCN code was for being parked too long- you get an hours parking without a permit. Bits of the permit were visible, but not much. I'm extremely p***ed off about this, as I've already paid £40 for this permit, and the the warden that ticketed my car comes around every day, so must have known the permit was there. Do I have a leg to stand on with this?
