A very petty and strange one for you all but wondered if anyone could advise?

To keep it brief, my girlfriend and I recently announced our pregnancy on Facebook after telling family and friends. Iv just been told that an ex girlfriends mother immediately posted a picture of a voodoo doll with pins stuck in its belly. This woman aimed similar pictures at me when I split up with her daughter over a year ago.

There is nothing implicitly directing the post at me but its obvious to me and others that this is a roundabout way of her publicly stating she wants my unborn child dead. After twice thinking we might have lost the baby early on I find this pretty disgusting.

I know the obvious thing to do is ignore it as I have done in the past but it's easier said than done!

I phoned police Scotland but was told there was nothing that could be done. Can anyone recommend a course of action I could take to pursue this with the police? Id rather this woman was dealt with properly as im trying to rise above her level of ery.

Any advice would be great, thanks.

She doesn't want anyone dead. Shes just an unintelligent moron and hasn't really thought about what she's saying.

Delete her, move on. Anyone can see she's a fool and the joke is on her. Anyone taking her side? Well you wouldn't want to know them anyway.

On a brighter note, congratulations to you both on the baby front smile Best thing I've ever done is bring up a child.

You phoned the police to report someone has tried to put a voodoo curse on your unborn child. Get a grip and figure out how to block people on social media

How about posting pictures of a obvious voodoo doll of her and her daughter with pins in the little fingers.

You know where their brains are.

With the phrase look who's brain dead now.

It's a big compliment - you're clearly quite the catch and the whole family can't get over you. I agree that getting off facebook at this point would be worthwhile.

I really would not worry about such a pathetic person who might do that OP. I'd also be concerned that they bred, but be glad you are no longer a part of that family!

Thanks for the kind words! Really chuffed and looking forward to being a dad smile even considering chopping in the integra for an estate ha ha!

This woman has already been blocked on Facebook. I generally only use it as a messaging service and source of funny cat videos but do wonder at times if it causes more grief than its worth.

Id like to think a copper turning up on the doorstep might make her keep her nose out but likely not.

Might I ask how old you are?

I ask as I'm in my 30s and was raised that you call the Police for serious stuff, emergencies and the likes.

I'm genuinely a little astounded that you'd call the Police because someone put a photo on Facebook.

Congratulations OP.

Facebook is a very public place and even if you block things sometimes things happen that you won't like. In the old days it might have been gossiping in the pub, now it's facebook.

Control what you can, and what you can't for the sake of your sanity accept you can't and ignore it. And for gods sake don''t waste police time on Facebook rows.

I can understand why it annoyed you given how personal it is, but it's not really a criminal matter. Don't ring the police unless it's persistent and / or there's any reasonable indication to think she'd carry anything out.

Use Facebook's reporting mechanisms.
