An ATM I used just last week was robbed out of the wall it normally lived in this morning:

Is there any risk that my card details are stored in it somewhere?

Because he can't type the word "card" correctly?

Correct.

Although I live near by, so they could have taken my car too.

Burn your car and change your identity just to be on the safe side.

A gang regularly targeted ATM at rural filling stations near me over a period of several months.

I believe they got caught when one of the gang used his own digger to rip the machine out and left the reg plate clearly visible on CCTV.
