MOT - Is the Speedometer tested

Not strictly speaking a question regarding law but maybe someone can advise.
My car is booked in for an MOT this week and the speedo isn't working -I have looked on the VOSA site at components tested and the speedo isn't there (see site below). I obviously want to get it sorted but will the car pass with the speedo not working ??

then AIUI they cannot refuse a Test certificate. Speedo is not listed (strange).
If anything said not illegal to use re offence of fail to maintain under Con and Use Regs if:
Defect occurred on current journey on which contravention detected, or
Steps have been taken to rememby the defect with reasonable promptness (part ordered awaiting delivery and fitting).

I don't know if things have changed but it used to be possible to mark your tacho (30, 50, 70) with the top gear speed at particular revs, this counts as a speed indication.
this may only apply to vehicles that have never been fitted with a speedo.

Liebchen - they do not test the Speedo at MOT - presumably because even calibrated - ist never 100% accurate - und I base this on GPS comparison mit all our cars across my large family. All new ones are 3-4 mph out compared to all GPS makes. Have found discrepancies mit same make of car und other makes as well. 
- und the classics - epecially the Moggies are way out to a whopping 5 mph increasing to 8 mph the faster it travels. The old gal has always passed her test though - und chomped her way through a couple of speedos as well. We tried replacing the speedo via a parts service we found for classic cars - and none proved accurate to 3 mph across the speedo.
Might be why they don't test it - else the "old dears" would never hit the road again.
But having said that - these old cars feel different and 30 mph in the Moggie acutally feels fast!

Seems weird that the speedo is not part of the normal MOT as it is definitely on the SVA?
Phantom have a car that has failed on the speedo reading 12% out and this is the only problem with the car! They cant get this particular car to read correctly and so no reg until sorted.
I would have thought a quick glance whilst on the rollers would have been normal.
