I thought the vans bit would be a good idea. Can't be that nice for the 'safety casualty reduction team angel' sat inside hearing car horns blaring all day.

Nice tactic. I have also long thought of a scheme to help guide public sentiment the correct way - include something about looking at the speedo to make sure that you weren't speeding in every accident report filed. Don't know how effective that would be though.

I would do it...if I had a horn that worked louder than a p1ssed off mouse I do a variation of this at speed humps: whaaaaaarp whaaarp (to about 25mph):brakes: :takes bump while sounding horn: whaaaaaarp whaaarp :brakes: repeat.... only on occasions where it's obviously unnecessary IMHO gives me a small amount of pleasure in a warped kind of way there was actually a piece in the local rag (nottingham evening post) a while ago about residents campaigning to get rid of the speed humps outside their homes because of the increased traffic noise and negligible effect on road safety!

I know camera operators who assume beeps and horns of passing drivers are those of praise and support...
(like at a picket line)

This spurs the operator to do more and more hours.....Afterall, the public are behind him..

You have to remember...the operator from a cameravan will be driving the T5 the day after..

Is there not the risk you may get done for warning other motorists or being rude to police and operators ?

I remember the case with the chap with the warning sign and also somebody who flashed his lights at oncoming motorists (in that case a police car)

Depending on your actually 'action's would depend on the outcome.

I would never be rude to a copper...who's got the power in the confrontation? and anyway, never be rude to someone you want something from - even if it's just to get dealt with kindly if ever he pulls you over

however I always try and warn drivers of an impending scamera

Always used to warn drivers heading in the opposite direction. Usually with a quick flash of the lights. However i got that many people giving me the rods or coffee beans that i don't bother now
