Aah, the infamous delete-gate scandal. Basically there was a sticky which went into great detail about how great CSCP were doing and how fantastic they were. When the time came to input the last couple of month's worth of figures for 2004 the thread disappeared. Members asked where it had gone. Steve replied that it had been pruned. Since the thread was completely gone and had had recent posts he was accused of lying and asked to explain how his software knew how to prune topics that made him look bad, regardless of the date the last posts were made. Toys went out of the pram as he took a bit of a hissy fit about the use of the l-word. Turned out that admin had deleted the thread, apparently without telling Steve that he was doing so
. It was pointed out to Steve that a lie is still a lie even if you think you are telling the truth (cue much rustling around in dictionaries). Several people were banned for refusal to retract the l-word. Think Steve wanted them to buy new dictionaries 
Shortly after lie-gate I was banned for repeating another members question "how can you take the credit when fatalities fall but refuse to accept the blame when they go up?" I was banned within 5 minutes of posting that, at 11.30 at night! This apparently comes under the heading of OTT personal criticism.

I don't contribute often but when I do I have often upset Steve - the last time being when I suggested that the increase in Deaths was down to Speed Camera policy and removal of traf pol.
He demanded I "took it back" or face a ban, well neither has happened to date (yet)

Speaking in my role as chief dictionary rustler - sorry ex chief dictionary rustler - I can confirm that it was indeed one of the more amusing days on the forum.
I am since informed that it was not a lie. The correct, politically approved description is now a "terminological inexactitude"...

Now we're getting to the truth of the matter! I think that phrase accurately describes 90-95% of CSCP bods' posts.

Well, I agree totally ; it's your own stupid fault. I posted there and had no problems
