Just read this cracker on the Cambridgeshire scammers site
So they put a scam up, and accidents go up yet still they want their revenue. Unbebloodybelievable!
Why not look to the root of the problem with the highways agency first

It would not be practical for safety cameras to be removed. Every single camera has an effect on driver behaviour and vehicle speeds, even if casualty rates have increased marginally. All camera sites are reviewed regularly to assess their impact on casualties, and where collisions are still occurring we will work with our partners at the relevant highway authority to look at other ways of addressing the problem.

I emailed one of the partnerships (I forget which one) asking why they didn't put up speed limit repeaters on cameras, to eliminate panic breaking, etc.
To my mind this one simple decision would eliminate at a stroke accusations of revenue generation.
The reply was it "wouldn't be practical".
How many warning signs are there per camera? Yet it "wouldn't be practical" to put up a single limit repeater on the camera itself.
Christ, these people make me seethe.

But their website states their aim as...
If they are serious about their 'sole aim', surely they should immediately remove any camera that is increasing casualties? (or could there be another motive behind speed cameras? naaah...)

If they are serious about their 'sole aim', surely they should immediately remove any camera that is increasing casualties? (or could there be another motive behind speed cameras? naaah...)

Thats very true, they take a large amount of stolen loot from unsuspecting drivers and add to the death count to help fund your lavish offices and non jobs!
Why dont you change your webpage to this: "Cameras dont just take lives they take cash!" Catchy Huh?

I don't think that camersa are directly causing increased casualties they are simply having no effect. Of course if you set up self funding taxation operations like this in the guise of road safety so that it appears that something is being done then real road safety issues get ignored.

OK so we are relying a lot on what Andy from Burwell "read"... but if it can be shown that since a camera has been put in place accidents have increased, can't we claim some kind of link?
After all, that's what they are doing wherever accidents happen to have fallen...
