Not sure if anyone can help with this but...

I currently in the process of obtaining a class C licence (rigid truck over 7.5 ton.)
I also will need a CPC card to drive for a living.
So far I have passed the Hazard perception test and the LGV theory test.
I have booked my driving training and a test.
The next hoop to jump through for the CPC card is a case study test.
This is where I am stuck. I can't seem to book it on line as after entering my details on the official site there is no Case study test option. Only confirmation of having passed the other 2 tests.

I've been trying to call DVSA but never get to end of the phone queue. Waited over an hour and a half today.
Just wondered if anyone might know why the test is not available to me.

Not sure if it's relevant but my licence already have C1 entitlement.

To get my CPC card it was so many hours training. 5 modules each of 8 hours thankfully sorted by employer.

When I learnt to drive and got all my licences 3 years ago I got the CPC Once I had past my driving test. I think doing that plus the theory and the strapping loads thing as part of the driving test all counted towards it.

Check with whoever you are doing your training with as the training etc for the license counts towards your CPC and may actually be enough to get your card. Our drivers who took their class 2 test got their CPC at the same time.

As you already have C1 - from a pre 1997 car test ??? - then you have the choice of either doing 35 hours dcpc periodic attendance training with no testing or doing the initial dcpc theory and practical tests

to do the initial route you must firstly contact them via this email address - cpcre@dsa.gsi.gov.uk - as the system is not yet capable of handling your situation
the wait for a reply is about 2 weeks

Thanks Rog. Sounds like a typical bureaucratic screw up. One would think that info would at least be on the government website though.

Pity you did not say you were going to do cat C as I would have suggested you got a provider who had the C training dcpc approved as you would have got between 14 and 28 hours periodic dcpc for a little extra cost as you already have C1

who did you pay to do your training ?

Ask if they have their LGV practical C training approved for dcpc
