Dual licence motoring offence conundrum

I have a friend who is in a predicament. This is based in Ireland if it makes much difference. Driver has an Irish and English driving licence but is due in court and I believe loss of licence or ban for a period is a possibility.

What is the legality (I'm not asking for the morality or sensibility) of continuing to drive under the other licence if a ban or points are awarded resulting in being disqualified to drive?

This would still be driving whilst disqualified, right?

If he is being dealt with for an offence in the UK and not Ireland (Northern or Eire), then he will be disqualified whatever licence he holds in the UK.

If he continues to drive and is caught he will be liable to very severe penalties including jail as the courts get a bit pissed about people who do things that the court order them not to.

Producing a second licence will not help in the matter if he happens to be checked by any Police officer stopping him or he is involved in an RTC.

If he is simply stopped and asked to show his licence and shows the foriegn one, he is chancing to luck whether the officer decides to do a name check on him.
He may be lucky and get away with it, he may not be and then.......

Disqual drivers are dealt with severely by the courts. The fact he is disqualified will also make any insurance invalid. A very big question has to be asked by himself about whether the risk of no insurance and a collision however small is worth the risk!
