I live in a fairly new set of flats with secure parking underneath. Of late there seems to be some random attacks on car tyres.
I recently bought a new car, say a month ago. Since then my rear right was punctured whilst parked under the flat, today i was going to take it to the garage for a new tyre and to my surprise/anger the other side has now been punctured.

There is CCTV of the main entrance but this does not cover my car, i will be reviewing the CCTV next week to see if any of the local kids passed through but not holding much hope.

The reason for this post is, i haven't bothered calling 101 as i don't see this having much use. Its not likely they will show any interest.
Do the PH collective have any tips or tricks as to how i may obtain the culprits identity? I was thinking down the line of camera in the car etc. No idea where i can purchase such cameras....?

Disclaimer* should i find out who the culprit is, i will be reporting them to the police with little no Dirty Harry style tactics as the chances of them being a minor is relatively high.

Report it.

They might not do anything. But if enough people report it, then the walkabout bobbies usually have a saunter around the area on their rounds. Happened round here anyway, bits going missing off cars, think they had about 10 reports made (one from myself). Ended up having PCSO's walking up a couple of times a day and a couple on a night.

Worth doing, it could be happening a lot elsewhere in the area how do the police know to deal with the issue if they aren't told.
In terms catching the culprit difficult one really, fill your tyres with dye so they get sprayed when it bursts? hehe

Report it. Certainly if there's a few of you.
There are people whom call the police every time they get a puncture believed their tyres have been slashed, when the rusty nail clearly suggests otherwise. If there are a few reported cases you should at least get more of a police presence. If there's loads, you might even be lucky enough to have surveillance cameras put in.

'Walkabout bobbies'? I haven't seen one around here in years other than on home match days. They didn't even come out when I phoned 101 with a description of the scrotes who jumped on the roof of my car. This morning a new neighbour asked if there was a problem in the neighbourhood as a window in his wife's car was smashed last night. I told him to phone 101 but I won't be holding my breath.

Have you phoned up to complain?

A friend of mine that lives in a flat had a card through the door this week from the Police asking if they had seen anything,
as another resident had a screw in their tyre.

Aye.

We've got fk all in the way of proper coppers round here. Just a load of PCSO's in diesel Corsas, on foot or a cheap push iron who no one pays an ounce of respect to. Hard to see the point. In my 6 1/2 years of driving I've only seen 2 TrafPol too!

If your parking place is against a wall I would reverse in and fit some kind of dash can to record whoever is coming towards your car.I am not sure if they work when the engine is off but they probably do.

The only positive about the other rear tyre being punctured is that they should be replaced in pairs.

Some good points.
Spoken to the police via 101. They have taken all the details and are going to get hold of the CCTV.
I am posting a notice to all residents asking for people to report any vandalism as suggested so thanks.
Just purchased this camera specific to car security- https://www.spycameracctv.com/spycamera/mini-720-h...
Waiting for it to be delivered and set up before i purchase new tyres.

Let the fun begin!

Such a shame we live among such little fkers.

Little update

My other half was driving the car out of the complex we live passing the group of children that cause much disruption to all residents. (Especially in the 6 week holiday - these kids could do with 6 weeks extra in school!) anyhow, one of the children, say 14/15 years old gestures at the car and says to his mates "ey, was funny when we did that cars wheels wan it" - I was stood on the balcony and heard it all!

Later that day I was driving the car back into the car park and saw the group. Called the oldest boy over and had a quiet word explaining should it happen again i will come directly to him for the money.

Nothings happened since (about a week). Kids don's hang around the flat that much anymore either - bonus.

Just waiting for the smashed windscreen now haha!

Fingers crossed.
