So yesterday I needed to do a Basingstoke/Bristol run again. No problem. Some back roads and some M4 for speed.

So on the M4 there are roadworks. And big signs. Huge great signs. With a speed camera logo on each one. And a "to protect the workforce" explanation.

Now, of course, not everywhere they have the HUGE GREAT SIGNS do they have a BRIGHT YELLOW Gatso. But in some of them they did.

So I cautiously approach the roadworks, look out for workers, ensure my speed is appropriate and legal and watch out carefully for the BRIGHT YELLOW BOXES!

Sure and enough I pass each one with no problem and get back on with headlong plunge into the West Country at Warp 9.

And, of course, I then pass several of the cars that didn't bother to approach the roadworks with such caution. Each of which are shortly to be presented with a certificate of speed achievement courtesy of the local SCP.

Some of them passed by the camera and got flashed despite having seen the same thing happen to the car in front!

ARE THESE PEOPLE BLIND, ASLEEP or just plain...

SHEEP!

I despair I really do. Getting caught be a sneakly mobile is one thing. Plain asking for it is another...

Not blind, just untaxed and uninsured and not the registered keeper.

They probably assumed the cameras would not be in operation, as there was nobody working at the time. When was the last time your saw workers working on a motorway roadworks? No wonder it takes so damn long to get them finnished. humbug, etc.
