scamara van driving dangerously!

this afternoon driving home from work, I was going round a roundabout in the outside lane (turning right), on the inside lane was a scamera van, he proceedeed to swap from the inside lane at the approach to the roundabout via the centre lane and almost into my near side!
, I now wish I had made a mental note of his reg. as this is really getting to me now, how DARE these people do you for speeding when the standard of their own driving is attrocious, no DANGEROUS!, am fuming now!

rd to the local pratnership. Mrs LongQ, about a year or so after being scammed by a mobile under rather dubious circumstances, was nearly taken out at 8:30 one morning by a local scamera outfit van overtaking a bicycle on a bend which had rather iffy sight lines and a junction meters away.
The van crossed to her side of the road just as she had pulled out of the junction.
Apparently the passenger (they were two up) looked rather sheepish.
In a hurry to get the cash machine working I suppose.

So would I be correct in saying that if I were to pull said maneuvre in front of you ( assume you were unmarked) then you wouldn't pull me over for a chat then?

Driving without due care and attention I would have thought was one of the biggest killers?
I witness this type of manouevre weekly and invariably the driver in the wrong will blame you

Yes, of course I would pull you in for a chat. One of the reasons why would be to determine if the car was actually yours, whether you were drunk etc etc.
However, I wouldn't have put pen to paper inthe circumstances that have been described. If I did decide to do that, it would be a ROS for Driving without Due Care/Attention...and that might not even be run by the CPS. Certainly not Dang. Drive.

He'd close his window and switch radio2 up most probably. Having a go at the lads on the ground won't change anything. Kicking up a fuss with the guys who give the orders and make policy is the only way to get road safety addressed as a multifaceted problem.

I suspect iam meant 'outside' by reference to the road approaching the roundabout rather than the roundabout itself. Otherwise the scamera van could not have crossed centre lane "almost into my near side".
Either that, or he WAS in the wrong lane and additionally can't tell his offside from his nearside.
Not very iamish, if true.A few months ago, I was passed by a Scamera van on a dual carriage way. I was doing 72MPH (GPS verified).... he cant have been speeding could he? I mean its tantamount to running around a busy shopping centre with a loaded gun isnt it?

Not necessarliy Police Officers doing their job, more likely illegal civilian camera operators with little driving experience themselves. The same applies to the speeding vans. More & more civvies manning them now, contrary to the approval for use which is, as understood, to 'confirm the opinion of a police officer......'.
If civvies, then I reckon the word SCUM, whilst unpleasant, might be the correct one.
