..then it doesn't matter if the car is doing 30 or 40. Why do we keep hearing about the motorist being at fault, and having to take *full* responsibility for the safety of everyone else?
We need an Ad campaign along the lines of the "at 30 mph... bla bla... at 40moh bla", but worded;-
"At 30mph, a pavement user has 0% chance of dying in a RTA, and at 40mph, the risk is the same. Pedestrians, use the Green Cross Code!"

No thats not right What we need is a little kid saying. At 30mph if u wander willy nilly about you will get killed, so they put speed humps in.
And now my grandad is dead cos the ambulance was delayed when he collapsed, all because pedestrians didn't care (tears and teddybear)
