A friend, honest, left employment in June of this year and has had his yearly pension statement this year covering payments made by said employer from December 2014 to December 2015. It's in the region of £700 a month.

I know nothing about pensions generally, having always paid into the same one since graduation and moved it when I've changed employment so as to keep the same one.

From conversations tonight, he's always maintained they screwed him over when he left, as he had 2 days off during his 3 month notice period and they deducted it and reckons he can get away keeping it.

I reckon they'll eventually spot the mistake and take it from him.

Thoughts?

(it IS a friend!)

They will have paid his pension provider rather than "him" won't they?

They can't recover from him as they didn't pay him. They can TRY to recover from pension provider I guess....

I had exactly the same situation a couple of years ago. Pension paid them back.

Assumed this is what would happen.
