Purchased 2 iPad pros on the 18rh December.
As presents so opened and registered Christmas Day. everything is fine for 1hr or so then begin feeling sick on one of the machines.

The other machine is no problems at all. Swap machine and feel fine. Go back to machine one and feel sick again within 10 mins.

Take it back to the stormfront today and request a refund but am refused as its been open and registered. I explain the reason and advise it under 14 days but am blankly refused. The call head office who also refuse.

I ask for the machine to be sent off as its has a fault one, a strange one that I can't show. The refuse that as well until I loose my cool and force them to book it in.

It has to have some kind of fault as the other machine doesn't make me feel sick.

Surely as its less than 14 days there is a law to protect me and my purchase ?

Called apple who advise its very strange that they won't just refund. If it was an Apple Store they would without question. They want me to push with stormfront and rport back to them. They did say they would step in if stormfront hold out. They will let it go to an Apple Store.

Anyone can offer me advise for a email to send stormfront and consumer law / wording.

Anyone had problems with storm front before ?

I'm intrigued...feeling sick on one of the machines? Not heard of this before.
What is actually the problem? Is the display wobbling in some way?

Bit difficult with a fault which is not immediately obvious to anyone but you.

ETA: If you paid by credit card, you also have extra protection under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.

I can't explain it. The screen to me look the same. But the effects of the 1st machine bring on the sickness.
It's bizarre.

However I didn't think returning it would be a problem.
Not that it makes any difference but over the last 2 years I've purchased 9 iPads and 2 5k Macs.

The iPad pro was purchased on a debt card, not a credit card.

Click on the Section 75 link on that page I linked to. You still have some rights. you might be able to get the debit card issuer on your side.

Could Apple reverse the registration?

Get someone to pick one without you or them knowing which and use it for a while, then try the other. repeat a few times to see if you get a consistent result on which makes you feel sick.

At least then you can be sure if one of them really is causing you an issue.

Sounds like a refresh rate (the frequency at which the screen is refreshing, though more than likely within manufacturing tolerances it could be enough to give you the sick feeling, no two screens are the same even from the same batch) or a slight issue with the display that your eyes are effected by, a slight vibration in the LCD that your eye's/brain are detecting.

I'll give Apple their due they act on these things well (keeping mind I'm no Apple fan, I'm my college's Mac technician and work with the damned things in an Active Directory environment). The only time we've used Stormfront however there was a blindingly obvious fault (a year old 27" iMac's motherboard went belly up, a close one though as it only had nine days on its warranty left) so there wasn't any issue. It sounds like Apple are your best friend in this situation though, resellers of Apple gear are generally beholden to Apple, Stormfront, as far as I'm aware are an official Apple supplier so they are, for want of a better term, licensed to sell Apple gear by Apple themselves so Apple will have a bit of pull in this situation.

Were you sitting in the same place when using both machines with identical lighting, or in a different place? If different, it's possibly not the iPad but the lighting (LED Christmas lights are notorious for flicker).

Sounds like a slightly dodgy screen and lighting combination. My wife was getting sick with an old monitor at work. Swapped for her laptop - felt fine - swapped back - sick.

My wife didn't believe me, she swapped the pads around and asked me which one was mine in 10mins I could tell.
When they are turned on next to one another the do look identical, yet one makes me feel sick.

Both were used in the same position. In 2 rooms, living room and dining room.

It's the lack of assistance from stormfront and the stone walling. They have not helped in the slightest.

Surely the solution is what you've written in the OP. Take it to an Apple store, they will replace it (which apparently they've said they will already). Job jobbed?

Probably the quickest solution.

The Apple Store is 50 miles away. Stormfront are 5 miles.

Can a low refresh rate be proved ? Is it for me to prove a fault ?

Probably quicker to drive the hour or so and get a new one.

Technically they should probably take it back. Reality says take the pragmatic option, find a nice pub en route and have lunch as well...

IPad Pro has a trick new panel which changes the refresh rate dynamically to conserve battery life, I wonder if it's not working correctly in one of them and that could possibly be enough to trigger nausea if you're particularly sensitive to refresh rates.

Update.

Stormfront called no faults can be found. Requested I collect from store. I have refused.

What is my next move ? Small claims court ?

Can you clarify if anyone else has the same issue?

Small claims court....

Looks like a case of buyers remorse to me
