Between:

SP50 - Speeding on a motorway

and

SP70 - Exceeding motorway speed limit

I was browsing some insurance sites the other day and these two came up as endorsement codes and surely they say the same thing?

Whats the difference?

My guess would be....

SP70 where the limit is 70mph

SP50 where a lower limit applies

But then what do I know?

Speed limit endorsement codes:-

Code

SP10 = Exceeding goods vehicle speed limit
SP20 = Exceeding speed limit for type of vehicle (excluding goods or passenger vehicles)
SP30 = Exceeding statutory speed limit on public road
SP40 = Exceeding passenger vehicle speed limit
SP50 = Exceeding motorway speed limit
SP60 = Undefined speed limit offence.

SP70 therefore does not exist!
