Just ran a MOT check on one of our builder's vans (subcontracted) outside. Thought it looked a bit scabby so why not?

No tax, no MOT since Feb 2015. How can they get away with this with the continuous enforcement? Dead person as registered owner?

Insurance...? http://www.askmid.co.uk/

They won't get away with it for long. One day, they'll come across a Plodmobile with ANPR and time on his hands, and the lack of a valid registered keeper will come back to bite them hard.

If, otoh, there IS a registered keeper stupid enough to do without the paperwork, then they'll find themselves with a CCJ if they continue to ignore it.

Nope, no insurance either. They are rough as you like so I'm not surprised.

Vehicle is probably showing as 'In Trade' they may have insurance on a trade policy too. Sometime this doesn't show on MID. There time will come. Ring up your local force, if there is a regular pattern of travel tell them and they will issue intel to your roads policing group.

I wonder how diligent they are as tradesmen...?
I wonder if anything can be read into your primary contractor subbing to people like that?

I'd be wondering about the presence or otherwise of their liability insurance..

Very confident in my primary contractor's insurance, and our contract is with him.

Hopefully all the online services are wrong and this scabby Transit is 100% legal and I shouldn't be so nosey...
