Just wondering if it is likely I will get a Speed awareness course for 40 in a 30.

Driving since 1997 no points never been prosecuted.

I'm more annoyed at myself because I genuinely wanted to go my whole driving career with 0 points.

Lancashire police sent me a login to view all of the data regarding my offence - I didnt know that happened. Something slightly irritating about a "snipers eye" view of my car with a crosshair on it smile

Thank you JonV8V

Not in Scotland - I was on my way to pick up some ecig liquid from somewhere I hadn't been before - Blackburn of all places smile

I know what I did, its 2 lanes turning right and once you have crossed the junction it goes into 1 lane - I was in the farthest right lane and the person in the adjacent lane put his foot down to stop me getting in front. I couldn't brake and drop in behind him as everyone was bunched up and I would have got rear ended. I decided to get in front of him, he did cut up the guy behind me as I heard the beeping. At the moment I got pinged Id have been above 30 for literally 2 or 3 seconds frown

I expect so! biggrin

Paint on the new car is called "Stealth" - How ironic that this is the ONLY car that I have ever been pinged in biggrin (Or pinged above the posted limit I should say)

Me too, 40 in a 30 - SAC to be done a fortnight Monday - first ping in 40 years of driving, think I've done pretty well to have gotten this far without a tug (or maybe I'm just the four-wheeled equivalent of Augustus Windsocks!).

Interested in where you get your information?

From CPS.gov.uk:

The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) has issued speed enforcement policy guidance, which suggests that enforcement will normally occur when a driver exceeds the speed limit by a particular margin. This is normally 10 per cent over the speed limit plus 2 mph.

An example..

http://www.nottinghamshire.police.uk/faqs/how-do-i...

You have quoted the lower threshold not the upper for a sac IE 30+3+2 =35 unlikely to have any action taken at all below this speed

As above, what was asked was confirmation of the upper threshold for speed awareness courses.

What you have quoted is the guideline minimum threshold at which enforcement action should normally be instigated.
