Evening all,

Just a quick one;

If one was to appeal a parking ticket issued by a council enforcement officer, using the online form. If the appeal is written in a language not native to the UK, what is the likely outcome?

Seeing as virtually every government website has the offer of it in other languages, as well as every bit of council paperwork I've ever seen I would imagine they would find a translator.

Whilst there, you could then request the highway code in every language you are versed In to help you park better in future? rolleyes

Would this be in the hope that the parking fine will be rescinded?

If it yours you can clearly write good English, or have somebody who can write it for you on your behalf.

So you know the person whose received it and can help them fill it in in English then? wink

Or is this a hypothetical question?

There were a couple from Holland that when on holiday in the UK both received a parking ticket.

They both filled in an appeal form in there own language for each of their tickets and had them cancelled.

Apparently the council did not understand the language so let them off as they seamed to think they were speaking double Dutch.
