Maybe its like trainspotting. They'll hang about on motorway bridges and service stations jotting down the VRNs.
Or maybe they send you a list of VRNs so you know which cop car has stopped you for driving without due care and attentions

I not against unmarled police cars but i would like to see a far greater number of fully marked up police vechiles on the roads

You do;
Scenes of crimes vans, special constable vans, cameravans, community support officers vans...

Problem is; it's the trafpol vehicles you need to see more of..

The others are just hi-vized up to scam the public into thinking there are cops everywhere...when it's not true.
