£100 fixed penalty and 3 points - but wrong reg no?

A week ago I was driving down the motorway making a fair bit of progress.
Was followed home by unmarked plod, who showed me footage of my car at 90MPH.

I signed a bit of paper, and went on my merry way.

Recieved the letter today (No offer of a driver awareness course) but it has the wrong numberplate. Not my car. (One letter out)

Is there a way out of this?

If/when it gets to mags court, the obvious typo will be corrected. You won't escape it on that basis.

The letter found it's way to you, so they know who you are and where you live
The way out of it is to take the fixed penalty to avoid spending the day going to court for a larger fine and costs.

90mph is above the speed awareness threshold so it was never on the cards.
