A relative of mine was sentenced yesterday at Crown Court. None of us were aware he had even been to court! I have been searching the web for info and on one site his full name comes up for a previous case in 2014. How can I find out about this case?

Bit more info as was rushed earlier. Close relative was sacked last year by a friend of mine who had suspicions he had been thieving from work. Relative admitted it before being questioned and requested police be brought in as per company policy.

This was the story from both sides. Relative had to move back home, face parents wrath, and await outcome. According to him he went to see police upon request, wasn't arrested admitted guilt and offered to pay back money taken <£1000.

His Mom had a call yesterday from a prison officer to say he wanted to speak to her. Turns out he had been to magistrates, plead guilty. Yesterday he was in crown court for sentencing and received 22 months for theft of £42000!!

I'm trying to help his parents (80's) get their head around it all, whilst looking online for court info I found his case yesterday but also a case in 2014 in his name in his local crown court, but can't find any further info into what it was for.

Thanks.

Local press or police is a good place to look.

Around here the police do a weekly 'who was in court' tweet.
