Got woken this morning at 5:15 by the old bill knocking in my door. They were looking for someone who apparently had "links" to my address. We have lived there for over 5 years and the people before us were there for quite sometime too. This person wasn't one of the previous owners (there were two teenage kids but neither had the same name). Then police then said that that this person was the boy friend of a girl called Amy. There was no one called that who lived there before.

I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover but the photo they showed us of the person they were looking for was of a very dodgy looking git. When we said that their response was "that's why we are looking for him". I assume as well that if they are knocking on random doors at 5:15 that they need to find this geezer sharpish.

Is it likely to be crap intelligence that the police have or should be worried that some dodgy st is likely to be turning up and my house looking for his girl friend?

Dodgy st probably gave them a false address at some point in his dealings with the plod. Just happened to be yours.

Can't blame them for checking every lead.

Been on noodle for a while and there is nothing on there.

Not blaming them for checking.
