GPS detector - wise buy?

[planman350i]

I fancy a GPS detector but I've heard somthing about speed camera detectors becoming illegal soon. Does anyone know the rules?

Also, what is best GPS detector around at moment?

GPS based detectors are fine.

Detectors which monitor radar and laser emmissions will be banned.

I think we'll all have different views on 'the best'.

My £0.02 worth - Morpheous Geodesy / Roadpilot.

I've had one since Oct 2002 (over 50K+ miles) and basically it does what it says on the box.

It has never missed a fixed camera in all that time.

Updates are dead easy via the net and the unit itself is small enough to remove into shirt pocket when leaving the car.

Can't praise it enough.

HTH,

Simon.
