Person A has hired an overgrown field for their wedding to be held in from Person B. Person B supplies a temporary electrical supply using a ground level domestic extension lead, with no shielding, no warning signage or other protection from the public or mechanical and environmental damage.

Person A hires Person C to provide catering at the wedding.

Person C arrives and provides requested service. On leaving person C is directed by Person B to follow a strict path. Whilst following that path, Person C drives over an electrical cable which he/she does not know about, the cable is hidden from their view by the 12" long grass.

There is a resulting loss of power and damage caused to the flex, snapping it from the socket it was plugged in to.

Who should Person A complain to about the loss of power/interruption to music/lighting from the loss of power?

Person B I would have thought, however there could be caveats... did A hire a 'mate' in B to supply an electrical cable or did A hire a company that does this for a living? The fact it states domestic, suggests a mate...

Did B know that C was about to drive down the path or was that unexpected?

Though if its only damage to the part that was plugged in, could a sparky not be hired to fix it and agree that B will cover the cost for not protecting their equipment, directing C across the cable without thinking, etc?

Biggest one of all if its a ground level domestic extension lead why are you hiring someone in the first place when they are £20-40 for XX metres?

How long was the interruption to the lighting/music? If it was a couple of minutes whilst the plug was plugged back in, I wouldn't have even bothered starting a thread about it. Or did the wedding involve one of those Bridezillas who won't stop crying because her wedding was ruined?

If the bride kicked off about such a trivial thing I wouldn't even consummate the marriage, get it annulled straight away.

No one, because it's all your fault.

If person A is the bride then it's neither B nor C; it's her husband - and he'd better get used to it...
