So they've gone and done it, according to this mornings news they'll be banned "as soon as next year", we all know why, its so we can't evade their fg tax.
Just wondering what the 'punishment' (don't they love that word when it applies to normal working people) will be. Massive fine? jail?

Is there ANY non-chav/taxpayer that will vote these cts back in?

"Punishment" for the motorist - reahbilitation and correction for the scrotes - seems to be the way of things these days....

As for this scum getting back in, Blair will use all of his weapons of mass distraction to tell the chav retards that they are better off under him. After all he wouldn't deliberately mislead the public - would he?

I reckon that this will become part of a rationalisation of speeding laws across Europe to ease the establishment of Europlod. The UK government will basically cave into anything like this, as it plays directly in their financial interests.

Our only hope are the Germans - they are the ones that are outspokenly against speed-limited cars (a French dream) and will hopefully defend the radar detector.

It would be interesting to see the stats - is a driver with a radar detector a safer driver because he has one, or is he simply safer because he is a more interested driver and has a radar detector in consequence? If the increased safety of drivers equipped with radar detectors could be proven, it would be hard for the blairites to justify banning them.

They obviously weren't catching enough people.

I wonder where we apply for compensation covering the purchase price of our detectors - just like hand-gun owners could.

How does one become a scrote? It appears to be a worthwhile establishment

I think it will become a growth industry if this load of sh!ts get another term... I'm certainly considering it as a career move since working for a living is getting less and less worthwhile!

So they want to ban a device that warns people they are approaching a camera, therefore adhering to limit and not breaking the law (therefore saving lives as speed kills)? Interesting. Tw$ts.

Is my microroad pilot safe as it is gps based?

Radar detectors are not illegal in Germany, however if caught in Bavaria with one, the police will remove it under "obstructing an ossifer in his duty" laws and put it under your front wheel and tell you to drive off.
Germany and it's car manufacturers were the first to cave in to greenslime wishes in bringing in the totally irelevant 250kph limiters on cars, only Porsche does not have it and will not tolerate this socialist controlfreakery.......

Just use a sat nav system that is capable of using an imported list of points of interest.

They cant ban that...

The "Radar Detectors" aren't a patch on GPS based systems, so that'll be RoadAngels all round then?

I quite like my radar detector because it tells me whether a Gatso is actually emitting radar i.e. operational.

I used to drive through Gatso infested Staffordshire a lot and the majority weren't emitting radar - it was quite de-stressing knowing that it didn't matter if your speed crept up to the camera's trigger point because you were watching other road users too intently.

Not so. A gps cant tell you if the scamera has a functioning radar installed.

My understanding is that many manufacturers do not subscribe to the 250 kph limit.

Off the top of my head only Audi, Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar have the limit. Maybe Ford, Lexus and Volvo too.

Ok, you have a point. Only Porsche, Ferrari & TVR left ?

I've just been having a look at the new Five series from BMW. Interesting that you can now buy such an ordinary machine as a three liter diesel estate that will reach 250 kph with ease.

But GPS is useless for a mobile trap isn't it?

But how much use are rador detecotrs now anyway. It seems the biggest risk is mobile laser units. I think more to the point is that they will ban laser detectors and jammers in the same bill.
