I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but I see a fair few National Express coaches on the motorways that always seem to be sat in the middle lane. It's led me to assume that they must have done some sort of analysis and advised all of their drivers to do so.

I guess as they seem to be cruising along at 70 this means they don't have to keep moving in and out of lane 1 to pass lorries and other slower moving vehicles, and therefore potentially reduce their journey times. Just wondering if this seems to be a company decision or not, and if so, what do you think?

You maybe didn't want to put this into the law forum but it seems appropriate if indeed the company's guidance is at odds with the law. There's just no excuse to constantly hog a lane in my opinion.

Yes OP IMO they really are utter sods - 60mph middle lane and they won't shift over. Seen a few got to the rightmost lane on occassion too.
The thing is that they do it because of lorries and the fact they've a whole 4mph advantage, but they don't half cause bottlenecks.

Limiters set for 62mph I think, in all my years of driving and upto and over 44 ton
never had ab issue with coaches.
Only idiot coach drivers to stop and unload passengers and luggage on busy roads
in town & city centres instead of making the lazy s walk a few yards
