Why there are no more cops on the beat ...

but the Home Office insists there are.
Well, it's another B'liar fiddle. The HO now counts time the BiB spend on paper-work as "front-line policing".
It makes the figures look better, but does nothing to improve the public's increasingly jaundiced view of the level of policing.

Profile pic, anyone...?
Quite how they expect us to updat the various computer systems while we're out writing, I'm not so sure.
Perhaps we'd spend less time sitting at a desk if we didn't have to enter the same data several times over, onto different systems, as none of them seem to be compatible.

I had heard such (and that other cops were made to do them in Cafes), but viewed this as so completely asinine that it couldn't be true.
A typical crappy ACPO dodge. If you can't do the job properly, cheat.

I have never, in Norwich, seen a cop on the beat *anywhere*. Even in the City Centre. However, I *did* see two PSCOs the last time I was there.
You are right though ; it's cheating.
