Those of you around jct 23 M1 at about 12 35 pm today would have been aware of an hgv that breeched the central deviding barrier.
I was very early on the scene and saw people attempting to help the driver with one guy in lane three trying to direct traffic away from the crash site .
I positioned my truck across lane three and two to deflect any wayward rubber kneckers away from those trying to aid the drivers .
The driver was alert and moving but unable to exit his truck as it had seriously jack knifed and the doors were either not accessible or were wedged shut .
I remained until the emergency services were on scene .
Got a well done from the firemen i/c for giving the scene some safety area ,then managed to get my truck released before the motorway was shut .

Well done you - that is something to be proud of helping another driver in trouble.

I towed a lady and her kids off the M1 a couple of weeks ago they were stuck in lane one of the exit slip by the roundabout - not a nice place to be stuck with busy traffic and it as easy for me to helpt them out - I'd like to think someone would do the same for me if I was stuck on a dangerous spot.

That is brilliant - well done. Takes a surprising amount of guts to attempt to help - good on you.
